orchard road experience

so we went to do some fund-raising thing for the society of the physically disabled. and we had to sell this tortoise which says' "i love you!" when you squeeze the shell and some paperweight and coaster for like $4 each!!!! so in the end, ling an and i decided not to sell this items but to just ask people to donate cause most people don't want the stuffs.
i bought one of the pink tortoise for my handphone, so that was the first donation we had!!!!
then we decided to go plaza singpura. and we couldn't find our way there!!! we were at somerset mrt and walked one big loop and came to grange road. then we walked and walked and finally plaza singapura was right in front of us.
then we began selling and a lot of people didn't want to donate. there was some parent who could afford to put their kids in those $1 vending machine which moves and sing some children song and they didn't even want to donate!!!!
there was some ultra nice people who donated like $10 note!! and three people in all!!!
so all i can conclude from this experience is that some singaporeans are realllly nice while others are super rude. you know, when we ask, "excuse me, do you want to donate to the society of the physically disabled." then some people just walk past us without even taking a look at us, like as if we were some sort of transparent people.
after all these, we went back. we took a bus there and alighted at the bus stop after ngee ann city, so we knew that to take a bus back we have to wait at a bus stop opposite, so we decided to walk along the opposite side until we see a bus stop.
in the end, we walked and walked and saw three bus stops passing oppposite and there was no bus stop at our side. we thought it was very strange but continue walking.
then at a junction, i said,"i know why there isn't any bus stop."
"why?" ling an said
"cause it is a one-way road!!!"
then we started saying how dumb we were.
we walked from wngee ann city to borders!!!
my handphone have this steps counter. and turned out that we have walked 20008 steps, which is like 14.3km!!!!
14.3 km!!!!
that is like so far lor.
from this fund-raisng event, i think my knowledge of orchard road has greatly increased. :)
