tooth extratction!!!
Friday, August 1, 2008 @ 3:47 PM
didn't go to school in the morning cause had to go for important dental appointment. i extracted another two bottom jaw premolar teeth!! it really isn't pain at all. i am not trying to be brave or anything like that, but i honestly don't know why some people get so freaked out hearing 'tooth extraction'. although it may be a bit bloody, yes i agree to that, but there is like 100% no pain at all cause there is this wonderful thing that a very important person came up with.. it's ANAESTHESIA!!! and anaesthesia makes you feel no pain at all because is kind of does something to your nervous system. according to wikipedia, which ms khoo (brp teacher) says that it is totally unreliable yet i am still using it haha:
Today, the term general anesthesia in its most general form can include:
Analgesia: blocking the
conscious sensation of pain;
Hypnosis: produces
unconsciousness without analgesia;
Amnesia: preventing
memory formation;
Relaxation: preventing unwanted movement or muscle tone;
Obtundation of reflexes, preventing exaggerated autonomic reflexes.
get it??? so if you feel pain when your teeth is being extracted, it's either your dentist was not careful and did not put enough anesthesia, or is just your IMAGINATION!! so with such advanced medical knowledge, it's perfectly painless to have a surgery! isn't this just so WONDERFUL??
okay, let's move on.
so during the extraction you will only feel pressure, and if you are so concern about when the pain will happen, i shall tell you. there is only pain when the dentist kind of injects the anaesthesia into your gums, but it is really only an ANT BITE!! oh, and you feel pressure and you can hear those 'cracking' of the teeth. it's really cool okay. and the teeth will come out very quickly and painless! but, the after effects is the worst part. i hate the numbing feeling, it's like you can hardly feel that part of the mouth. for example, i extracted the bottom two teeth, so my whole bottom jaw was numb and there was no feeling at all. like when you close your mouth, the upper lip can feel the bottom lip but the bottom lip cannot feel the upper lip, get it?? so the feeling is very, very weird! and when you touch or scratch the part where you had your anaesthesia and around it, there is totally no feeling!!!
and after the extraction, there is good news and bad news. the bad news is that you cannot eat hard things like apple, biscuits, or even potato chips. which makes you really, really hungry, especially when you see your friends eating these stuffs.
but the good news, is that you have a good reason to eat ice cream all day long!!! according to my dentist, the ice cream gives a soothing effect, thus it's really good for your gums and teeth. so today, i shall be eating a whole tub of 1.5 litre of ice cream and sit in front of the computer and watch korean dramas! yay!!! but i must remember to exercise after that of course, i don't wanna grow fat!! who wants to???
so this shall be the end of the tooth extraction post. good luck to all of you who are going to extract your tooth/teeth!!!
