hana yori dango :(

started watching hana yori dango (korean version of boys over flowers) today. no offence to hana yori dango fans, but the japanese version is really cannot be compared to the korean version. i just watched the first episode, however the first episode failed to make me want to watch the second one, unlike the korean version which made me watch like ten episodes in one go.
even last sunday times rated the japanese version worse. and korean version is the best! so here are my commments after watching the first japanese version.
1) the introductory scene is not as appealing and eye-catching as the korea version. after watching for ten minutes i was very tempted to close the window.
2) in the drama, there's this group of four rich and handsome guys called F4, however in the japanese version, unfortuantely, in my opinion, the looks of the F4 was way... too un F4-ish. pretty sharp contrast to the korean version. (i think you get what i mean)
3) and so this gang of four will paste F4 red cards on people lockers if they offend them. and the person who receive the card will eventually get driven out of the school. japanese's F4 cards are way too unprofessional. it's just this red card with cursive font saying, "from F4." however the korean version is much cooler and 'fiercer' in that sense. the red cards contains a gold skull with a gold 'F4'
4) i dunno if the hosting site had problems, but the light quality of the video was really bad. it's super dark and dim, and half of the time i had to squint my eyes to take a closer look. morevoer the dimness of the video projected a gloomy and sleepy mood. in contrast, the korean version has really bright and cheery lightnings.
5) so far there's NO humour element in the first episode, as compared to the korean version. maybe there was, but i didn't find it funny at all, and i remember laughing LOTS OF TIMES while watching the korean version.
6) this is for gaoge. in the korean version, jandi's brother whose real life name is park ji bin is so much adorable and cuter and looks a lot more younger than the japanese version of the boy. he looks a lot more mature and not so adorable looking.
7) more of school life was reflected in the first episode, very little of family, as compared to korean version i could see a balance in both family and school life of the main character and see a clear link between both elements.
8) F4 and the school are supposed to be rich and high-class. however the school look like any other school. even i think that maybe nanyang building look richer than hana yori dango's school building. the jap version failed to impress us on the richness of the school and the F4, they only showed all the branded items students have in the first three minutes of episode 1. however in the korean version, the WHOLE drama impresses viewers how rich they are. and i especially LOVE junpyo's (korean version) house!
9) lastly, even though episode one ended in a cliffhanger, it wasn't a successful cliffhanger i would say. i may even consider not continuing to watch it, especially with the hectic lifestyle nanyang girls have.
hmm that's basically it. wow i feel like i'm doing some history comparison question. but seriously i didn't know that i would be able to generate so many points.
you might say that i'm biased, actually i think i'm kinda biased haha. cause everyone knows how much i adore almost everything related to korean. however i've heard from some people after they've watched both versions that korean version is way better. like panyu is an example, she's a HUGE fan of mangas and obviously she should side japanese more than korean right? but in the end she still thinks the korean version of BOF is better than the japanese version after watching BOTH! and sundays times also proves this.
i'm
not trying to un-promote (is there such word?) hana yori dango. i'm just kinda irritated by myself for wasting 45min watching this. instead of homeworking. and i'm really apologise if i have offended/insulted anyone out there.
in conclusion, korean version BOF is still the best! ;D haha i agree with panyu, kinda sad that bof is over.
anyways moving on to school life.
haha the most prominent event i remembered was the most recent one! CULTURE!! haha yanying and i were like sitting super straight and moving our heads from one side to the other in syncro for like THREE TIMES. and it was super hilarious when the teacher found out. yy laughed till her whole face was red. xD
oh and i think i'm weird. at random times i can suddenly be very nervous for wushu comps and sometimes very relaxed. but most of the time it's the former. haisss.. anyways i'm looking forward to tomorrow's training. last one before comps!!
HILARY YOU CANNOT SLACK!!!!!
THREE MORE DAYS TO WUSHU COMPS!
