quite a number of things to post about today! well let's start with last night! ahh basically mugging desperately but to no avail for french, and then my dad suddenly ask me to go watch a movie on HBO with him cause it's taken from spain and that's where we've been to a few years back. and then i got glued to the movie. it's called vantage point. and it's an action film. and usually i don't really watch action films, but this film is one of the rare ones that caught my attention and interest. it's seriously a very good movie with lots of twists and really out of the blue storyline.
synopsis: Thomas Barnes (Dennis Quaid) and Kent Taylor (Matthew Fox) are Secret Service agents assigned to protect President Ashton (William Hurt) at a landmark summit on the global war on terror. When President Ashton is shot moments after his arrival in Spain, chaos ensues. In the crowd is Howard Lewis (Forest Whitaker), an American tourist video taping the historic event to show his kids when he returns home. There is also Rex (Sigourney Weaver) an American TV news producer who is reporting on the conference. It's only as we follow each person's perspective of the same 15 minutes prior to and immediately after the shooting that the terrifying truth behind the assassination attempt is revealed.
it's basically a president who got shot, and shortly after the place was bombed. and this 15 minutes incident is being retold in the perspective of EIGHT characters, and in each of these perspectives more truths unfold, more characters are introducted, and where more twists happen. what i like about this movie is the unique element of the different pov of different characters, and the visual effects is really realistic too.
on the surface it may seem like some usual assassination of a president and people go investigate it, but it's not in this movie. i absolutely LOVE the twists in it. like one of them which is super cool is that the president being shot is not the real president but a fake one. cool huh? well, here's the trailer:
highly recommended by me! one of the movies you have to watch during june hols! but i think it's quite an old movie, released in 2008. lols my dad commented that it's so good cause it's action throughout! oh what i dont really like about it it's cause there are eight characters, so you have to really pay attention in the movie if not you won't really understand what is happening. but still, it's a movie worth to watch!
next, physics. mrs wong was super high all of the sudden, complaining to us about how her daughter could fail primary three chinese! and she was telling us that her daughter could read every word in the chinese textbook, and yy said, "cause the textbook got hanyu pinyin!" LOLS!!
and today i had my most horrible flus. it's really annoying. and it was so hard for me to concentrate during lessons, especially during maths >< oh and class contact time was the cheering session, borrowed regine's jacket which helped me in my flu for a while. thanks regine! haha the cheering with regine, yueling and shumin was super high, we were like trying different pitches in the cheers. oh yes and i like it when mr kuo interrupted and told us to be more enthu, cause we definitely don't want to lose to BOYS, especially HIGH SCHOOL BOYS, and he was like imitating how they cheer, and shumin was agreeing, repeating that RI boys cheered like dogs barking 'wuff wuff' LOLS!! can't imagine mr kuo leaving nanyang though...
french exam was okay, a lot more easier than controle one! slept for the last 25 minutes of the paper, kengfang who was sitting in front of me slept too! ^^ my french oral will be next week, since there isn't enough time. oh and i was like imitating that pink panther's guy's I WOULD LIKE TO BUY A HAMBURGER with huahuan and kengfang haha! we were all super high after the exam, cause we were supposed to watch a french movie but it's kinda boring, compared to vantage point! haha. oh and jasmine was telling me that in nanyang jufang there are 3 shuai people, and one of them is feiya lols! but she's really good at acting kays! love that instant noodle act!!
oh and something that spoilt my day - bus waiting. i waited the bus for 27 minutes! like wth lahs! arrived at the bus stop at 6.35pm. and the bus came at 7.02pm, and it was packed right up to the entrance of the bus >< and then i reached home at 7.35pm, can't believe i wasted a whole hour on transport time, when usually it's only half that time!
shall end off with something you really have to watch if you've never watched it before!
