have been following this drama for the past weeks, watching every episode the day after it screens in korea. love this song. terribly touching (haha alliteration). i love how the melody goes. have been quite a while since i listen to sad korean songs. haha lachata is far from sad. but i'm still addicted to lachata nevertheless! just that this song is currently playing repeatedly in my windows media player haha. maybe when i want to feel happy.. i'll continue listening to lachata repeatedly again heh.

really nothing productive done this holidays, only stuffs i've achieved is watching a few episodes of snsd's hello baby, more restaurant city, watching the drama mentioned above, watching PUNCH LADY!

oh yes punch lady ROCKS OKAY! very very touching and inspiring.

Ha Eun (Do Ji Won) is a 36-year-old housewife with a teenage daughter and a husband (Park Sang Wook, The Restless) who is a K-1 champion. Docile and gentle in nature, Ha Eun endured 13 years of physical abuse from her controlling, sexist husband. But upon witnessing her husband assaulting her own child, a shred of reality sets in and her search for the path to freedom begins. During her husband's K-1 press conference, Ha Eun lashes out against him, boldly inviting him to a K-1 challenge. Only three months till the fight but with most gyms refusing to accept any females, Ha Eun finds herself at loss until reluctant help arrives - Soo Hyun (Son Hyun Ju, My Rosy Life), a scruffy-looking ex-math teacher who has never lifted a finger at anyone in his life. But Soo Hyun comes to believe in her and becomes her unlikely coach, passing down the techniques he learns the night before at a training gym to Ha Eun the next day. No longer a damsel in distress, Ha Eun gets ready for payback time!

and f(x)'s sulli (choi seol ri) is in there too! i think i like her more now.. though if she's more 'cool' in lachata.. it'll be better. i prefer her 'cool' side in punch lady than 'act cute' side in lachata.

f(x)’s presence has become a declaration of war against this summer’s reigning rookie group, 2NE1.

On August 24th, via Youtube and SM’s broadcast, SM Entertainment revealed new five-girl group (x)’s debut music video “Lachata” teasers.

f(x) is a girl group that consists of group members Victoria, Amber, Sulli, Luna, and Krystal. This time, SM Entertainment’s goal is not only Korea, but also all of Asia and perhaps even the whole world’s entertainment industry, by preparing long and hard for a global, international girl group. According to SM spokespeople, f(x) will be performing powerful dance moves and songs.

This produces a “powerful” image for the girl group, which discards the old “cute” girl band image, thus becoming a formidable rival for successful girl group 2NE1. SM Entertainment has come out with a statement, saying that through the “powerful” group rivalry, f(x) will gain more popularity.

What’s interesting is that both groups have been through long periods of time as trainees, and are both elegant and have long histories. 2NE1’s Sandara Park was a teenage star in the Philippines, who later returned to Korea to become a member. Gong Minji, stage name Minzy, has also raised a lot of attention, and Park Bom and CL, also YGE trainees, have become celebrities.

f(x) also has impressive history. Krystal, SNSD’s Jessica’s younger sister, has already been a hot topic among netizens. Victoria, a natural born Chinese citizen, has been through various interviews and auditions in China in order to be accepted into SM Entertainment. Sulli has also been a child actress since she was young.

What’s more interesting about the rivalry between 2NE1 and f(x) is the competition between the pride of their two management companies. 2NE1’s company, YG Entertainment, and f(x)’s company, SM Entertainment, are traditional rival entertainment companies when it comes to idol groups. Also, being the management companies for the two largest national bands, DBSK and Big Bang, the competition has now been transferred to the two girl groups.

Judging from the aforementioned points, in the future there should be growing tensions between the rival groups.

though i like both 2NE1's I Don't Care and f(x)'s Lachata, i'm somehow more inclined to the latter! so f(x) all the way for me! and sm bands all the way for me too! :D

What does Lachata really mean? According to SM Entertainment, the word is a coined term of exclamation and onomatopoeia, that was inserted to heighten and dramatize the excitement of the fun song. With its easy pronounciation, the word is expected to make sensation along with the music.

OMG AND I JUST FOUND OUT THAT LACHATA DEBUTED ON MUSIC BANK YESTERDAY ZOMG!!! YAY ANOTHER LIVE PERFORMANCE!


ooh interesting! new outfits for this performance! though i preferred the outfit in inkigayo. sulli's dressing is kinda weird.. i like krystal's black with white poker dots blazer though! and oooh luna showing her belly button! ^^ victoria's dress is kinda nice! shows her slim figure haha. amber's brown jacket is nice! but the stuffs hanging on her jeans are a bit... distracting.

oh yes and i've learnt the dance for the chorus already! ^^
