Malaysia Trip + SLC♥
Monday, June 7, 2010 @ 3:44 PM

First week of June holidays has been a rather fun-packed one hehe! Malaysia trip plus SLC♥!

28 May Friday

Woke up at 4.30am, had 2 hours of sleep that day cause I was doing last minute packing for Malaysia trip. Left house at 5.20. Headed to Putrajaya, it's like the federal administrative centre of Malaysia with all the government buildings there. Quite cool! Visited this mosque where females have to wear this sky blue hoodie thingo which stretches all the way down to our feets, making us somehow look like we're wearing blue raincoats haha. Back to hotel where I watched my parents get one hour of massage cause it's in the package and it's for 2 person only. It's rather interesting to watch? Cause i've never seen how those massage goes like haha. Buffet dinner that day! It was supposed to be Korean steamboat but dunno why the hotel changed it. D: Ahh wells!

29 May Saturday

Checked out of hotel and went for shopping at a nearby shopping centre! Got this metal frame wallet, it's not really the blue checkered kind I have, slightly different with a buckle you have to lift instead of pressing down to open it. It's purple checkered! Haha yes I absolutely love checkered stuffs! Somehow all those squares appeal to me in way! And the wallet is only RM10 (about $4.50). CHEAP RIGHT OMG. Next destination was Kuala Selangor. Stayed at this kinda ulu firefly resort. It's called a resort but it's not the really high end kind of resort. Went for a firefly trip which is damn cool!! Like we sat on this boat with almost no engine noise and went to this really big lake (or is it sea or what idk haha). Was really dark at night that time which was great! There were SO MANY firefles on the plants at the lakeside. DAMN COOL! Cause they look like stars and they are really bright! Some even flew near our boat!! Great experience, really magical one in fact!

30 May Sunday

Breakfast was sent to our resort.. well there's only 20 units I think so obviously having a buffet wouldn't be pratical haha. So instead they sent breakfast to our room which is kinda cool. Had really bad flu that morning cause the air con was just so freezing cold and I couldn't lower down the temperature. Even my dad who isn't really scared of cold commented that it was freezing so that says something LOL.

Went to some fort (totally forgot the name of the place). What's interesting about it is MONKEYS! It's not the usual monkeys you see in Singapore, it's this really black kind and they aren't afraid of people at all. You can feed them actually! Some roadside vendors were selling monkey food. So people were feeding them and taking pics. But the monkeys are really agressive lol. Like when you give the food to them instead of waiting for you to let the food go they will just snatch it away from your hand haha.

Walked around, and saw this shop selling damn damn cheap stuffs. Like almost everything in it was Rm5 (about $2.25). EVEN JEANS WERE RM5 WTH. Got a pair of jeans for 6 weeks Beijing trip at the end of the year. I mean, RM5 for jeans?? WTH?! Haha but I most probably will throw it away after the Beijing trip cause it's quite big for me.

Headed to KL! Checked in Hotel and went to the twin towers to walk around! Love going there cause of all those high end brands haha! Ate at Sushi King! Wheee sushi♥! AND WE WATCHED SHREK FOREVER AFTER IN 3D WHOOTS! First 3D movie I've ever watched and IT'S AWESOMEEEE! A must watch! You won't regret it haha!

31 May Monday

Buffet breakfast which was lovely at the hotel and checked out. Headed back to Singapore.

1 June Tuesday

START OF SLC WHOOOOTS! Didn't really know what to expect when I entered Hwa Chong with Jamie, felt rather lost in fact haha. Registered and got a red bag that looks like crumpler, inside it contained a SLC notepad (which turned out really important and useful, and it provided most of the fun of SLC), mineral water bottle with Hwa Chong on the label of it, nametag with my name and faculty name (YEBOL WHOOTS), a participant's shirt which is the love (really loved the simple design of the shirt) and a really thick binded set of participants' handbook which got me quite... freaked out. It suddenly dawned on me that SLC was so serious and scary and GOSH THAT FREAKING ACTION PLAN. LIKE ANOTHER IH THING YOU KNOW. Shanna, Jamie and I were all like oh goshhh what's this. BUT WHO KNEW THEN THAT SLC TURNED OUT AWESOMEEE!

Sat in the auditorium for some briefing before SLC started with Yebol. Felt really awkward cause I don't know anyone. It's really hard for me to approach people I've never met, just my personality I guess. Headed to our faculty room and had some ice breakers game which was really fun!! The two guys in my group are really damn high. Girls were more on a quieter side.

Yebol's facilitator is Wei Ren, who gave himself a new name (Jack) during SLC (LOL) and HE'S REALLY TALL. Like the tallest Hwa Chong guy I've ever seen haha. The only two guys in Yebol are Jim (who looks quite innocent to me but turned out really really sick), and Elvin (another tall guy who is only Sec 2 gosh. Sec 2 already so tall!!). Then the girls: Faith (SCGS girl whom I stick with most of the time! She's really good in English and is smart! Haha "Faith, we have faith in you!"), Kim (Toilet buddy! With iPhone that is always being used to play Tap Tap whenever we were bored), foreign particpants Basilia (from Hong Kong) and Christy (from China), Shujie, Karyn, and Alamelu (really cool name!).

Then we did our flag! Which was pretty fun screwing it up and mixing the paint haha!

And following that was amazing race! Ate macs at Raffles City before starting amazing race cause all of us were just so damn hungry. OH YEA AND I SAW MISS LIM AT MACS LATER ON DAMN COOL GOSH AHH MISS HER LOADS.

Amazing race was fun overall, but all those walking was crazy. Yebol was practically walking to and fro Marina Square, Raffles City, Suntec City and Esplanade. So much that it seemed like I passed through the same few places almost 4 times. Was really physically tiring haha. But it was fun! :D

Totally slept throughout the journey back to Hwa Chong. And that was the end of Day 1 of SLC!

2 June Wednesday

This day was the day where we chionged out 2 Action Plan. Mentally tiring day. Doing the action plan was just zzzzz. Ended up crapping loads to make it longer and cause we were short of time.

Highlight that day was the FIRST YOUTH COMMUNITY MEETING. Oh yea before moving on to that let me explain the structure of SLC. It's split into two big groups, each group called a Youth Network. Each Youth Network has 5 Youth Communities, which are further split into 3 Faculties in each Youth Community. Each faculty has it's own unique name (Eg, Yebol), and 3 of these faculties make up a Youth Community (there's 10 Youth Communites in all, A to J, I'm in J). Yup.

So moving on to YOUTH COMMUNITY MEETING A. First formal meeting we experienced. Stuffs like we have to speak in third person register (Eg. This participant think that... This faculty wants to point out that..) and LAUGHING IS NOT IN ORDER, were completely new to us, and it turned out really hilarious in the end. I remember trying to hard to stifle my laughter that I could feel the heat from my face and ears. Some particpants were really funny during the meetings, plus the LAUGHING IS NOT IN ORDER made it even more amusing. It's really hard to describe it in words, you have to experience it to understand how amusing it was.

Oh in this meeting, Yebol got stripped of $10K. LOL. It was really epic larh, the debate over that $10K being used for media purpose. And we got our pathetic $10 bucks for our training in exchange for that 10K lol! (Okay people not in YCJ won't understand this part obviously, it'll be really long for me to explain it so I won't)

After the meeting, with a debrief after that, was the end of SLC Day 2.

3 June Thursday

Second Youth Community Meeting, whereby Jim's excellent flash mob solution got totally stripped away. From $10K, to one whole solution gone, pro man haha!! Oh and the amendments part was damn amusing too man!

Followed that was lunch (Oh yea lunch and teabreaks were great! YAY YOU FOOD IC YILIN!)

And then was a Youth Network Meeting which was pretty boring. Hearing all those presentations by all 5 Youth Community meetings was just zzz. And this is where the notepad really come in! Gosh notes being passed around each other was damn funny! Drawing people, writing comments of people to playing hangman. Just love the SLC notepads man!

Then phototaking! Love our faculty's photo!! But I'm trying to find the soft copy of it oh man D: Don't want to scan cause it will ruin the quality of the picture.

4 June Friday

LAST DAYYY DD:. And I overslept gosh. Woke up at 7.20 when I was supposed to report at 7.30. Took a taxi and met an overly-friendly taxi driver, which is kinda scary.

Another Youth Network Meeting with more awesome note passing. And then a guest of honour's address which was quite okay.

I can't remember which meeting it was, but there were some really damn sick note passing thanks to Hwa Chong guys larh. Like someone started drawing spongebob and we were supposed to add something on spongebob (we were bored yea), and they added THAT. And then they drew THAT and asked us to add things on it. WTF RIGHT.

THEN WAS GRAND FINALE WHOOTS. Got really really high and crazy cause everyone was. Clapped like mad, jumped like mad, screamed like mad, shouted like mad, felt mad throughout. Performances was awesome! Especially those Kpop songs gosh! Guys dancing to brown eyed girl's abracadabra and hyuna's change was simply awesome. And there were so many plays of Bad Romance, Baby and Tik Tok. And thanks to SLC I'm addicted to Tik Tok! (It's on loop ever since I started typing this post haha)

AND YCJ'S DANCE IS AWESOME! Though I felt quite screwed about it cause we weren't really that clear about the moves BUT GOING UP ON STAGE AND HAVING FUN WAS AWESOME HAHA. Apparently YY thinks we were quite prepared and like our performance SO WHOOOTS! GREASE LIGHTNING HAHA!

After grand finale was just mass taking photos with YCJ! Love those pictures with so many people (YCJ!) on facebook! Then was sitting in a circle and each person saying something was awesome too! LOVE YCJ MAN! Haha but if only the girl's in Yebol were more high! I couldn't get high sometimes cause the girls in my faculty weren't that high haha! I need high people around me for me to get high! :D

Ahh wells SLC was a great experience! Really glad that I chose to sign up for it. Chose SLC over BSP camp, even though BSP camp seems fun too, but I don't regret my decision choosing SLC! Meeting new people, awesome crazy ones especially is really cool! It's the people who make SLC fun so YAYY!

Awesome awesome experience I will never forget. And cheers to the OT and Faciltators too!

SLC ♥!

5 June Saturday

Experienced really strong Post-SLC blues. Ahh blues are never nice. They make you just keep thinking about something and you can't do anything else haha. Piano lesson that morning was quite screwed cause I didn't really get to practice that week due to SLC (but I'm not blaming SLC!) and my scales were quite screwed. Teacher seems quite irritated with my horrible scales but she seem happier with my pieces haha!

6 June Sunday

Met up with Puilin, Jermia and Callie to give out more surveys for Chinese SIA at junction 8! Gosh it's damn fun to give out surveys can! And those 3 RI guys asked to do our survey are so nice! One of them was wearing a shirt with 'Peer Support Leaders' somemore! ^^ Collected quite a lot of responses and headed to Callie's house to collate them!

Callie's house IS DAMN FREAKING NEAR TO THE MRT STATION. GOSH. Like 3 min walk only larh. I'M JEALOUS MAN. I have to take like a 15min bus ride to the nearest MRT to my house gosh. And callie's house is really nice too! Love all those childhood pics she has almost everywhere in the house! I don't think I have as much pics of myself when I was a baby.. maybe there are but I don't know of their existence haha. Was quite fun collating the results together! Hehe! ^^ The only thing fun about SIAs are there you get to do them together with your friends, other than that, they are just blehhhh. ESPECIALLY IH SIA GOSH.

Today

My first full free day ever since the June Holidays started! And I promised myself yesterday that I will finish at least one homework (I have not started on any) and I broke my own promise. Woke up really late at 12.30 and have been watching We Got Married, facebooking, and blogging. Nothing constructive completed at all.

Well so excited for tomorrow! First wushu training for me AND I SO MISS MY BATCHIES ESPECIALLY ESTHER PINGGHEE AND WANQING ♥! And it's handover tomorrow WHERE WE GET TO EAT LOADS OF FOOD which adds to the fun! AND BATCHOUTING AFTER IT GOSH GOSH CAN'T WAIT. NYWUSHU BATCH'11 I LOVE YOU ♥!

WHOOTS SAY YAY FOR THIS LONG POST. I feel very accomplished. :D
