SWEET SIXTEEN♥ !I feel, old. Heh. Honestly. And weird, seeing that I'm allowed to watch NC16 shows now, but even so I've started watching them way before my birthday so not much difference hehe!
Thanks to all those who wished me happy birthday in one way or another! Ranging from the usual smses and facebook wall posts, to getting super loud HAPPY BIRTHDAY when calmly queuing from sushi handroll haha! Regardless, thanks for making me feel like a special someone today! Will go in details the names who made my sixteen a more memorable one tomorrow since there's bound to be belated stuffs! ;D
And i still feel 不自在 when a whole huge group of people sing birthday song for me. Like how to react, where to look, cause there's like so many pairs of eyes looking at me and singing for me for that moment. It just feels awkward luh! Or is it just me hmm...
I refuse to touch alcohols and carboxylic acid cause I wanna enjoy the last few hours of my birthday haha. Actually I don't really 重视 my birthday but aiya, 16 feels a tad different? Like it marks the start of a new age range. Now I belong to the 16-20 years category, and not the 11-15 years category. T.T Plus the quiz is open book so (Y)!
Oh another thing about birthday, facebook wall posts. I'm glad I hid my birthdate a few days before, to prevent massive spammage of birthday wishes which comes in at a rate of practically one every few seconds. I just don't like it when people just type "Happy Birthday" and insert a smiley. It sounds so.. forced somehow. Like I rather people add more to the happy birthday you know, more interesting to read and sounds more sincere. Like those wishes I like on my wall, are those I really feel that it's more.. meaningful in a way? That's why I somehow get irritated when people I ain't that close to just type "Happy Birthday" on my wall. Although I admit I do that to others also luh, but still, I don't know luh what's the point of just typing Happy Birthday? Okay sorry if I sound really 过分 here..
Another thing that's cool about hiding your birthday is to see who actually remembers it hehe! You'll get pleasantly surprised by people you never expect to remember/know your birthday, and you'll be amused by people who don't know your birthday but yet whom you consider quite close. The former happened on the way to school, with a friend whom I hardly talk face to face to, but somehow knew my birthday and specially waited for me to alight from my bus to say happy birthday and sent a rather amusing sms "I like the way you check your phone after seeing me." that got me smiling to myself throughout the whole morning lol! On the other hand, the best example of the latter is my deskie, BRENDA, who somehow saw someone giving me a birthday present and hurriedly got on her phone and went to the class blog then my blog to reconfirm that it's my birthday. Then she 恍然大悟 and said happy birthday to me while showing her handphone screen with my blog on it! Adding on that "YOU NEVER TOLD ME WHEN YOUR BIRTHDAY IS!"
TODAY'S CAREER CONFERENCE WAS COOL. Forensic pathalogy totally make me go OMG THIS IS SO COOL at every supposedly gory picture that poor Sinlie was becoming all squeamish about. LIKE AIN'T IT JUST COOL TO SEE THE INTERNAL PARTS OF A HUMAN BODY? But I couldn't stand the wrist slashing picture, like I CAN'T STAND ANYTHING RELATED TO WRIST SLASHING IT JUST MAKES ME GO #)*$*#%&$(. And the speaker is frigging cool, first Singaporean female to become a certified forensic pathogist! Though I wonder how her husband actually can tahan having a wife who works on dead bodies practically every day haha! But I really like the presentation cause I like how the speaker puts real pictures of those post mortem she has done and how she actually openly shows them to us, and not like not show it cause she's scared that we'll be freaked out. Well a couple were freaked out but as far as I'm concerned, I'm enjoyin' it!!
Then Law was interesting! It wasn't all that new or anything, compared to forensic pathalogy, but it was an insightful talk. Loved the way the speaker enunciated her words, super clear and nice to listen! And media (chinese) was cool cause the reporter 董素华 actually came to talk! Though no offense I kinda 走神 during some parts of her talk, but it's still cool that a 'celebrity' is in our school. Got her autograph way before her talk thanks to Vanessa Chan who was just sitting next to her, and took a rather small class photo with her. But it was cool to know the behind the scenes behind every news report shown on TV.
*I still feel weird being officially 16* Anyway hope that I'll have a meaningful and memorable 16th year ahead! :D
