we'll take control of the world like it's all we have to hold on to

Can't do anything productive with my frigging flu currently, so I shall blog (:
School the past few weeks have been relatively slack I guess. With the countless of Monday holidays (: and Youth Day Funfair and FOA~ Work isn't exactly a lot either, and ironically though it's our last year in nanyang and we should be feeling the busiest or something, I feel uber free now (plus no more cca already).
Beginning of the term wushu juniors prepared this mini surprise farewell thingo for the Sec 4s. Super, duper touched la, cause for the past few years we've never done farewell parties for the Sec 4s, other than during chalets. And what touched me even more that it wasn't just another eat food and drink and talk party, they actually wrote cards to us, like each Sec 4 had a card from each level and in each card everyone wrote down their farewell messages. And they even made a Sec 4 video montage. Freaking cool lah. I'm still amazed by their efforts while typing this. Though reading the messages kinda made me regret a little, I didn't exactly get close to any juniors, especially the lower sec, and moreover being a vice-capt, I failed this, which makes me quite D:. I've myself and my personality to blame I guess, I'm not the kind who will take initiative to talk to people I don't know. :S

Then was Youth Day Funfair, which this year I didn't contribute as much as last year (sorry 408!). Dunking machine was cool stuffs, and it was awesome watching teachers being dunked HAHA. And it's amazing how so many people came down to our stall to watch mdm heng being dunked! ^^ Though I'm still pretty pissed by this year's funfair. I mean like it's freaking 8am - 1pm? Like who would come to our stalls other than our fellow Nanyang people and the Nanyang primary kids. It's like we're setting up stalls to buy from each other stalls and the school is just collecting money from our very own pockets. I miss last year's Youth Day Funfair. How hectic, how big-scaled it was, and how so many outsiders came to our funfair. It really felt like a, funfair. The school should just make it full day and open to public for every year's funfair. Oh and the food was horrible. Like there's a total lack of PROPER food (practically everything was junk food), plus the canteen was closed (other than the snack stalls which was selling hamburgers = junk food .__.), so we had to settle our lunch in school with what JUNK FOOD. Stomach felt queasy after the funfair. Especially for someone like me who after 加-ing noodles or rice will still feel uber hungry that I can eat everyone's leftover, that queasy feeling was horrible.
Oh but this year's funfair was the first time I dedicated a song! To 17slc facs ♥! Hehe goshhh party rock anthem-ing and we r who we r-ing in the quadrangle GOSHGOSHHH. I guess it was the only other fun thing in this funfair (other than watching teachers expressions before and after they were dunk teehee!)

We look so colourful in here! ^^
Hm next was 1000 with facs! Which included sneaking into a hc classroom to play bridge (LOL), and mass spamming continuous shots at james' house (OMGG FREAKING FUN BUT UMGLAM WAHAHA), mass taohui takeaways, and chionging to nanyang hall.
Okay before showing an unglam pic, let's show the glam one first (:

And ONE unglam shot HAHA the rest are too unglam for this blog to handle it. They're on facebook though HAHAHHAHA!

WAHAHAHAHAHHA.
1000 was AWESOMEEEE. The whole set up was freaking amazing, the use of space, the acting (KENJI!!!!), the concept behind the fashion runway stuff, the script, the music (omg CHOIR and KIMI WO NOSETE!) IS JUST AWESOME x 1000! People who didn't go, please start regretting. (: Though a bunch of stupidddd hwachong guys were making noises at the wrong parts .___. BUT OTHER THAN THAT, CONGRATS TO THEATRE AND CHOIR FOR PUTTING SUCH AN AWESOMEEE SHOW.
Then was super late dinner with facs at kap! Shall quote from pingghee's blog directly cause I can't agree more with what she posted.
and after dinner and laughing till my stomach hurt and we were all tired and we just sat in the circle and actually had comfortable silence. It's hard to reach this kind of silence even one on one. We were just happy spending time with each other. It's amazing how comfortable we are with each other.

I like bus rides home alone; I'm not saying I don't like my occasional bus buddies, but I'd rather bus ride home alone than have a regular bus buddy (unless I'm superrrr close to him/her, which is quite rare). I like reflecting about events, actions, words, people, myself on the bus while listening to my iTouch. Though sometimes I'm too tired to think about anything, but when I do, it's rather refreshing in a way. What I don't really like about bus buddies (just to clarify, OCCASIONAL BUDDIES ARE OKAY HAHA) is the pressure of keeping the conversation going, the pressure of wondering what to say during awkward silence, and only able to listen to one side of my earpiece (HAHA). And sometimes I just don't feel like talking on the bus you know, I just wanna look out and enjoy the scenery. Shall post some stuffs that I've pondered about recently.
Once, I was at the bus stop near Bukit Panjang Plaza, waiting for a bus home with my dad, and this old man came to our bus stop and started asking each person for something. After observing him for a while, we realised he was actually asking others for money. And when people refused, he would walk away saying something like "makan..." (I infer that he was hungry and didn't have money to buy food). He asked me too, but I don't bring my wallet out when I'm with my parents; and for my dad, he ignored him like typical Singaporeans (well that was what I did too, was quite freaked out about that man then). When this lady gave him some coins, he actually asked for more, which made me quite irritated by him. And when another guy willingly gave him some coins, he took a glance at the coins, drop the coins in his breast pocket, and walked to another person to ask for money WITHOUT SAYING A WORD OF THANK YOU, like as if people were already supposed to be giving him money. I was shocked upon this realisation. Though after taking a step back, I wondered if perhaps this man belonged to the really poor and unfortunate people living in Singapore. Cannot find a job, cannot raise family, cannot raise even himself. And I'm still pretty shocked that some people still have the notion that everyone in Singapore is fortunate and not poor. It's really high time for us, and the government, to start noticing and doing something about these growing population of low-income families, and not just purely focus on expanding our economy and tourism and whatnot. I believe there are already people helping these needy, but it's really not enough. My mum tuitions math for a girl, who has 2 other siblings and the whole family lives in ONE ROOM. Yes one ROOM and not one HOUSE. What's worse is that the sole breadwinner of their family - her dad - is hospitalised with cancer. If you daresay that everyone in Singapore has enough food and shelter, please think twice. (I don't know why I'm posting this either, since admittedly I'm not exactly that enthu about charity stuffs).
Though that old man should have thanked those who gave him some money.
Another thing I was thinking about, is waving to people. Simple thing really, but it can actually make me think quite a bit haha. Sometimes when I'm feeling really happy and high, I'll wave to practically everyone I know, be it friends whom I'm close to, or just people I happen to know by chance but hardly talk to them. And cause of this, unfortunately, I'll sometimes be very embarrassed and malu-ed when people whom I wave to don't wave back, and in my brain I'll start "scolding" that person (eg SHEESH WHY YOU DAO ME ARH!! .__.). And sometimes, when I feel rather neutral or down, and I see someone I know, I'll usually wait for that person to wave, then I'll wave back (: else I'll just, dao, sad to say. And it's really heartening when people you hardly ever speak to actually acknowledge your presence, and even smile widely while waving to you. Simple actions like this can really make your day. (: So people, if you see me, PLEASE WAVE TO ME. HAHAHAHA okay jkjk!
